Itinerary Details
- Obuse-machi: A quaint and scenic town celebrated for its premium chestnuts, historic merchant homes, and its strong connection to Edo-period master Katsushika Hokusai - creator of The Great Wave - who spent his later years here.
- Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park: Enjoy a scenic walk to this world-renowned park, home to Japanese macaques famously known as Snow Monkeys. They are often seen soaking in a natural hot spring, particularly during the winter months, creating a truly iconic wildlife experience.
- Shibu Onsen: A beautifully preserved hot spring town near the monkey park, Shibu Onsen is known for its traditional wooden ryokan, stone-paved lanes, and classic public bathhouses. Wandering its streets feels like stepping back in time.
- Zenko-ji Temple: One of Japan’s most important pilgrimage temples, with a history spanning nearly 1,400 years. Visitors can participate in the unique “Key to Paradise” experience by walking through the temple’s completely dark underground corridor.

*Punctuality: While we strive to be on time, please understand that delays of 10–30 minutes may occur due to traffic conditions, roadwork, or accidents.
*Central Tokyo Pickups: We offer pickups or drop offs from any hotel, Airbnb or train station within Central Tokyo. If your location is not on our drop-down list, please enter it in the “Note to Xplor Japan” section when booking. *If outside of Tokyo 23 wards will have an additional fee.
